Stay Until Sunday helps groups plan trips together — itineraries, packing and grocery lists, dining, group chat, voting, and shared expense tracking. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address (via Firebase Authentication), and date of birth. We use these to identify you, sign you in, display you to the crew on your trips, and confirm you meet our minimum age requirement — you must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Your date of birth is stored privately and is not shown to other members.
Content you create and share
We store the content you and your crew add to a trip: trips, itineraries, notes, votes and polls, chat messages, packing and grocery lists, and the destination or rental/stay addresses you enter. This content is shared with the other members of your trip — that collaboration is the purpose of the App.
Receipt photos and expense data
If you use the receipt feature, we collect the photos of receipts you capture or upload and the line-item amounts extracted from them, to help your group split expenses. We do not collect payment card numbers, bank accounts, or other financial-account credentials — the App does not process payments.
Identifiers
We use a user ID (your Firebase account identifier) and, if you enable notifications, a device push token to deliver push notifications.
Information we do NOT collect
We do not collect your device location (the App uses no GPS or location permission; destination and rental addresses are text you type, not device location). We do not collect payment or financial-account information, contacts, or calendar data, and the App uses no analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites. (This marketing website uses Google Analytics — see Website analytics below.)
How we use your information
We use the information above only to operate and improve the App: to create and manage your account; to let your crew plan trips together; to generate AI-assisted suggestions (itineraries, recipes); to read receipts and calculate expense splits; to fetch place, route, and weather information for your trip; to send trip invitations and account emails; and to deliver notifications you’ve enabled. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How we share information
With your crew
Trip content is visible to the members you invite to that trip.
With service providers (subprocessors)
We use trusted third parties to run the App. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database, and storage of your account, trip content, and receipt photos.
- OpenAI — generates AI itinerary and recipe suggestions from the trip details you provide.
- Google Cloud Vision — extracts text from receipt photos for expense splitting.
- Google Places / Routes — destination search and place/proximity information.
- Google Weather — weather information for packing suggestions.
- Resend — sends trip-invitation and account emails (processes recipient email addresses).
- Expo push / Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications (processes your push token).
For legal reasons
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Mijenu Technologies, Inc..
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Website analytics
This applies to the marketing website only — it is separate from the data the App handles. This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site (for example, which pages are viewed and which links are clicked), so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data such as your approximate location, device, and browser; we enable IP anonymization. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or your browser’s cookie controls.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the App. Deleting your account removes you from your trips, deletes your personal profile data, and — for trips you own — transfers ownership to the next member of the trip, or deletes the trip and its contents if you are the only member. In trips that continue without you, the display name you had when you posted remains attributed to your past chat messages and itinerary notes — see Delete your account for what is removed and what stays. Some information may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten in the ordinary course.
Your choices and rights
You can review and update your account information in the App, control notification permissions on your device, and delete your account as described above. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights — such as to access, correct, delete, or port your information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at hello@stayuntilsunday.com. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Security
We protect your information with account-scoped access controls (data is readable only by you and your crew), server-side handling of all third-party API keys, and encryption in transit and at rest provided by our cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
Children’s privacy
The App is intended for adults planning trips and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Traveler counts or names an adult enters for trip planning are trip content, not child accounts. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@stayuntilsunday.com and we will delete it.
International users
We operate the App from the United States, and your information is processed on servers located in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. If you use the App from outside the United States, you consent to processing your information in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, where required, notify you. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
